"Hearcare is a very appropriate name for this business because Audiologist, Dr. Jared Teter, certainly cares about the way one hears.

The very complete and professional way my personal hearing concerns were met shows that Jared has all the necessary knowledge and state of the art equipment to meet the challenge.

Thank you Jared, for the excellent and caring service that you have provided."

Most Sincerely,

"I am a client of Jared. He is a very patient and caring person. After a thorough examination and an evaluation of my hearing needs, he explained my hearing aid options, as to my hearing loss, lifestyle and budget. This was very important to a retired senior citizen."

A TESTIMONIAL TO EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

"One would think that after having worn hearing aids for the past 27 years, I would know the drill when purchasing new hearing aids. I walk in, the audiologist tests my hearing and then matches me with a pair of hearing aids designed to restore my hearing to normal capacity. It is very simple, right? After all, I was purchasing what would be my fourth pair of hearing aids. Wrong!

The overall experience of seeing Jared and Lisa was nothing like I've experienced before. First, when I walked into their office, Lisa was already smiling and greeted me enthusiastically! In the few minutes I spent while waiting to see Jared, Lisa had somehow managed to extract my life story in a way that I was happy to talk about it when I’m otherwise a pretty private person with someone I had just met! She clearly liked the work she did. Otherwise, her smile wouldn’t be as contagious as it is.

When I met Jared, I told him that I sought to purchase hearing aids similar to the old analog technology I had been using throughout my entire life. He then administered a hearing test which should always be done prior to being fitted for new hearing aids. When the test was done and my current hearing level was assessed, I asked what my options were.

Rather than pull out a sales catalogue, Jared instead began to engage me in conversation about my life and daily habits. The hearing aids I wore to that appointment were going on 13 years which is an unusually long life for hearing aids which are worn for 16 to 18 hours a day. At the time my mother purchased those hearing aids for me, I was a simple junior high school student who went to school and came home to play with the other kids in the neighborhood. I had a stable sound environment.

I quickly learned that this purchase was going to be very different. My life had changed drastically in those 13 years. Jared learned that not only was I a full-time student at Monroe Community College (now at Cornell University), but I was also a full-time flight attendant. He also learned that I play soccer on teams, love music and frequently go out to see shows. At the end of the discussion, he learned that my weekly life now included airport terminals, taxiing to runways, serving passengers at 41,000 feet with engines running at full capacity, restaurants with fellow crewmembers, lectures halls, libraries, soccer fields with multiple people calling out directions, concert venues and theaters.

Jared saw the immediate need for my hearing technology to be drastically upgraded. Rather than just allow me to purchase analog hearing aids and successfully complete a sale, Jared explained the advantages of nanotechnology to me and completely skipped first generation digital technology. He suggested a pair of hearing aids which could be programmed for multiple sound environments so that I could maximize my hearing ability regardless of where I was at any given moment! I went ahead and purchased the hearings aids he matched for my needs beyond simply amplification which is what my old hearings aids were simply designed to do. Even though they were a bit costly and I had to finance them, I could not possibly be happier with the purchase! Like the person with a hearing loss missing out on life because he refuses to acknowledge the loss, I have been missing out on so much as a result of the outdated technology I was using! My new hearing aids not only offer all that my old hearing aids had (such as t-coil which enables me to hear sounds from electronic sources such as the telephone or stereo headseats), but they even allow for programming which enables me to zero in on conversations by reducing background noise of other places such as airport terminals and restaurants or in aircraft where engine noise often competes with passengers’ voices.

Jared didn’t just boost amplification to make-up for the loss that I have and close his sales book. He took the time to match a very specific type of hearing aid to my very active lifestyle. In many cases, my hearing is actually now better than that of a normal person. If I only had a penny for every time someone has asked me to repeat something that someone else had said, the hearing aids would pay for themselves!

I suppose sometime in the future, I’ll be a simple old man enjoying my retirement in the comfort of my home. I’m certain then that Jared will sell me a pair of less extravagant hearing aids meant for a simple life. The fact you are reading this testimonial of my experience with Jared and Lisa Teter is proof that you are taking a step in the right direction to take full advantage of all that life has to offer. One never really learns to appreciate their hearing ability until he or she has experienced the disadvantages of not having it at full capacity. I have had a hearing loss classified as “moderately severe to severe” since birth. Nine years of speech and hearing therapy as a child coupled along with hearing aids do very well to hide what is actually a pretty bad hearing loss without the aid of my hearing aids. Most people I encounter never realize I have a hearing loss until the hearing loss is actually pointed out to them.

You may have gradually lost your good hearing ability over time and don’t really feel that your hearing is any worse than it was some time ago. You see, people who are born with hearing losses don’t usually need to be convinced that they need hearing aids. As you have read above, people like me already understand the drastic difference that hearing aids make in the everyday quality of life. There is no way I could have done all that I have done in life thus far without having maintained my hearing abilities as best as I could. If you take the appropriate steps to maintain your hearing ability now, you will prevent the future suffering of your loved ones as they try to convince you that you’ve lost your hearing and that you are missing out on the good things life has to offer. For you, this also means that the trauma of being told that you need hearing aids at a point in your life when you will be less open to change will never occur since you’ll have been maintaining your hearing all along like I have. Trust me, it is not a purchase you’re about to make. It is an investment in your livelihood, and possibly the best investment you’ll make in years for both your loved ones and also for yourself."
